Filthy lucre and why I switched on Google advertising

Some of you might have noticed that I switched on Google's built-in advertising today and might even be wondering why I did it or disappointed that yet another small corner of the internet has been polluted with people pimping their produce.

The simple answer is that I wanted to see what would happen - both in terms of the types of ads that would appear, how many people would click through and generally get some insight into how one of the biggest e-commernce companies on the planet operates.

As for (what little) money it might generate, well that will go to charity, in fact I donate to Oxfam regularly and this will add to what I am able to offer them.

If one of my small and loyal group of readers has another opinion, please let me know and I will happily consider it.
